New mural at the border fence aims to inform migrants

TIJUANA    Dozens of people gathered Saturday to paint a mural at the border fence between Tijuana and San Diego as part of a project that seeks to provide information and resources to migrants. Artist Enrique Chiu, in partnership with the nonprofit rights organization Sin Fronteras IAP, invited the community to add color to the first of four murals that will be painted along the U.S.-Mexico border. Stickers with a QR code will be placed on each of them, which will link to a website available in different languages so that migrants can learn about their rights, shelters near them and information about seeking asylum. Additionally, the website provides information for migrants who wish to study, work or seek medical care in Mexico.
