KUALA LUMPUR: Proton Holdings Bhd (Proton) has unveiled four new special edition (SE) models in its line-up, namely, the Persona and Exora Black Edition, as well as Iriz and Saga R3 Limited Edition, priced at RM55,600, RM69,800, RM44,800 and RM53,700, respectively.
During the virtual launch, Proton Edar Sdn Bhd chief executive officer Roslan Abdullah said in line with the sales tax exemption under the National Economic Recovery Plan (PENJANA) scheme, Proton will be offering special on-the-road prices (without insurance) for its SE models Persona (RM54,700), Exora (RM67,800), Saga (RM42,300) and Iriz (RM52,900). The SE models are designed to satisfy customer demand for unique Proton models, following the successful launch of the Saga Anniversary Edition on July 9 last year, which saw all 1,100 units sold within just five days,” he said.

Kuala Lumpur:
Proton Holdings Bhd delivered 5,964 units to customers in January 2021, down 29.9 per cent compared to January last year.
The company said the market share is estimated at 18.5 per cent, about 1.0 per cent lower than that of the same period last year.
“The overall figures though are a reflection of supply not being able to meet demand rather than a reduction in bookings,” it said in a statement.
Leading Proton’s sales in January was Proton Saga with 2,583 units delivered, making it the second most popular A-segment sedan in the country.

KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 29 Proton Holdings Bhd aims to double its export sales for the next 12 months, assuming that export activities were not overly hampered by restrictions due to the global Covid-19 pandemic.
It said the target was set after a flurry of activity in December 2020, including the beginning of completely knocked-down operations in Kenya and the Proton X70 launch in Pakistan which saw export sales end the year with an increase of nearly 50 per cent compared to domestic sales that grew by 8.8 per cent.
