BROCKTON Police say they charged three people and seized a loaded gun and fentanyl while executing a search warrant after witnessing a drug deal at a city home.
Brockton police say they had a search warrant for 309 Menlo St. on Thursday night when they went to the home to execute it and witnessed an illegal drug transaction.
One of the vehicles involved in the alleged drug deal, a Volkswagen Jetta, was followed from the home and stopped by a patrol officer at Forest Avenue and Gordon Street, according to Brockton police spokesperson Darren Duarte. Detectives arrived at the stop and a female passenger handed police the fentanyl she recently purchased from Vasilios Grantsis at 309 Menlo, Duarte said.

Ivan Keith, a 63-year-old who man fled Massachusetts 18 years ago in an alleged attempt to avoid being connected to at least four rapes dating back to the 1990s, has pleaded guilty to a series of charges, officials said, and is now expected to spend the rest of his life in prison.
Victims of the rapes recounted during a sentencing hearing Tuesday how the crimes changed their lives forever.
The survivor of a 1998 sexual assault in Easton told the court that Keith “took away my joy, my laughter and my peace of mind,” according to the office of Bristol District Attorney Thomas Quinn III. The woman lived in a constant state of fear, she said, not doing ordinary things she enjoyed like taking walks and socializing, and also neglected her health because she did not want to be touched by a doctor.

Ivan Keith pleaded guilty in Fall River Superior Court Tuesday to five counts of aggravated rape, two counts of kidnapping, three counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, two counts of threats, and one count each of breaking and entering, failure to register as a sex offender, failure to provide DNA, and perjury.
Man Arrested Following East Bridgewater Homicide
A man has been arrested in connection with his father s death in East Bridgewater.
Police at 6:30 p.m. Monday were called to a home at 137 Cedar St., where they found a man, 70, with apparent head trauma. The man was declared dead at the scene.
A family member, Lisa Walcott, told WCVB that her brother, Stephen Walcott, 42, had killed their father, also named Stephen Walcott. She said the brother had been suffering from mental illness and couldn t get the help he needed. She said her father had done nothing wrong.
The younger Stephen Walcott was arrested by detectives at a home in Brockton. He was due to be arraigned Tuesday in Brockton District Court on one count each of murder and violation of a restraining order.
