BROCKTON Wearing white T-shirts with his name and image on them and other maroon articles of clothing, family members of the late Marvelous Marvin Hagler sat under a large tent at Marciano Stadium on Sunday as the boxing legend was celebrated.
“When Marvin boxed, he always wore maroon. When I was looking at his pictures, he wore maroon in all of them, said Mae Lang, Hagler s mother. In honor of his birthday, I told the family to wear maroon so we can keep the memory alive. I never saw so many people show love to one person. I feel a little sad it’s been hard but it encourages me to keep going.”
Brockton student receives international attention for this science fair project
The dream of a father from the island of St. Lucia was achieved seeing his son receive international recognition for his hard work. Brockton High School student Christian Nichols recently won the Frederick P. Fish Patent Award at the International Science and Engineering Fair. The award includes $50,000 to cover legal fees and services to patent his artificial intelligence model that can identify fossils. That child works so hard, he s up late, he studies hard.
