It is another race night in Knoxville and it promises to be rather exciting for the 410s. A larger than normal car count is expected due to a larger winner’s share of $5,000 and many of the 410 touring series are off tonight. The 360s and Pro Sprints will also be running with their weekly show. After his win last week, Ryan Giles is the new points leader in the 360s while Tyler Gronenedyk continues to build momentum after his 2nd win the Pro Sprints and his consistency of not finishing off the podium all season. Listen for live coverage starting with Live Track Side at 5:00pm and Race Nights Live at 7:00pm on KNIA, and streamed live at kniakrls.com.
It was a record setting night that Hollywood could not write a script for on Saturday at the Knoxville Raceway as heard on KNIA. Brian Brown set not only quicktime in the 410s but broke the one-lap track record that many thought would never be broken by running a lap in :14.351 at 125.327mph. The old record was set by Brooke Tatnell back in 2006. Brown went on to dominate the regularly scheduled A-Main and then capped the night by winning last week’s postponed feature from the 6th starting position to sweep double features night. Brown told KNIA/KRLS after his second win, he was able to pull off the winning pass after seeing a chance to get by race leader Ayrton Gennetten.

Just as the Pro Sprints A-Main was on the track getting formed up for the start Saturday night at the Knoxville Raceway, it started to rain. Persistent light rain for about a half an hour forced officials to call off the remainder of the night due to the track being too wet to get back into racing shape. The Knoxville Raceway announced that there would be double features next week for the 410 class. The make up features for the 360 and Pro Sprints will be announced later.
