I love finding a good hotel, and I’ve discovered several since moving to Florida. Here are seven unique hotel stays in Florida, some perfect for a private retreat, some with an abundance of luxury, others suited for adventure, and even one with a live rodeo. I’m finding excellent new properties all the time, but these Florida hotels have really stood out to me as providing exceptional experiences.
Disclaimer: I’ve enjoyed hosted stays at Westgate River Ranch, St. Francis Inn, Island View Cottages, and La Siesta Resort. All opinions are my own.

This weekend could possibly be viewed as an Epic Weekend In Pictures. Now that I m fully vaccinated up, let s GO! As I m going through the pictures on my phone, this weekend involved probably a cajillion (give or take) miles more than this past year and a half. The world has clearly made some major changes since then. The way people consume content and the types of content they prefer to consume has also changed, thanks in large part to the global pandemic.
For the first time in state history, we lost a seat in Congress this week. If the California Exodus is a myth, apparently the Census Bureau is in on it.
We actually would have lost two seats if Gavin Newsom and the Legislature hadn’t spent $182 million to juice the Census headcount. Florida and Texas, meanwhile, gained several seats.
California’s loss reflects population changes over the last decade. But much of the damage was done by Newsom the last two years. His own Administration reports 136,000 more people moved out than moved in during just one of those years.
Overall, a staggering 53 percent of residents say they’re contemplating a departure. California was once a place where anyone could get ahead; it’s now a place many can’t wait to leave behind. Our state’s inherent beauty and countless wonders are being overwhelmed by the failure of our politics.
