It s no secret that it s been a difficult year for business. For businessman Roger Roach, his ability to refocus and bank on the silver lining of every dark cloud has kept his company afloat.
Roach is the CEO of Lazuri Apparel, a garment factory at 147 Eastern Main Road, Barataria.
“It s easy to get distracted, to get caught up in covid19, vaccines confusion, crime, and unemployment, Roach told Business Day during a recent interview. Whether I think about it or not, it will still be happening. But I can t let that affect what I m doing in my business.”

Owners: No evidence restaurants are source of spread of covid19

OWNER of the Trent Restaurant Group Peter George is demanding the Government provide scientific evidence that restaurants are the cause of the recent spike in covid19 cases.
Moveitowne owner Derek Chin also shared this sentiment, saying there was no imperative data to show in-house dining was, in any way, a contributing factor in the rise of cases.
The businessmen spoke to Newsday by phone on Friday, on the latest public health restriction.
On Wednesday, Minister of Health Terrence Deyalsingh announced a return to covid19 restrictions for restaurants, putting a ban on in-house dining for three weeks.
Excellent Stores CEO: Branch closures part of online shopping plan

Excellent Stores announced on social media last week that, by the end of April, its Arima and Trincity Mall branches will be no more.
But Alex Siu Chong, CEO of Excellent Stores, promised customers will still get the same top-tier service with a wide number of products in the online store.
The closure of the east branches, Siu Chong said, was part of a bigger move by Excellent Stores to enhance its service by improving its online platform and enhancing the performance of its stores in MovieTowne, Mucurapo; Price Plaza, Chaguanas; and the C3 Centre, San Fernando.
