Noida/Ghaziabad: On the second day for the third phase of the vaccination drive, both districts saw a higher turnout compared to March 4 and Noida even managed to go past its daily target of 7,000. The turnout was more than double compared to the first day.
While about 4,000 people took the vaccine in Noida on Thursday, on Friday, the number went up to 8,926. Officials said that the district can currently vaccinate more than 15,000 people a day.
While 4,580 people took the jabs at government centres, 3,065 turned up at private facilities on Friday. Apart from that 2,000 people took their second dose from different centres.

Leading from the front, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday (1 March) got vaccinated against Covid-19 at the All India Institute of Medical Science (AIIMS) as India started the second phase of Covid vaccination drive.
PM Modi took to twitter to inform that he had received the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine at AIIMS. Took my first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine at AIIMS. Remarkable how our doctors and scientists have worked in quick time to strengthen the global fight against COVID-19, PM Modi said in a tweet.

RANCHI: With the Union health ministry announcing the launch of registration for vaccination of people above 60 years and for those with co-morbid conditions between 45 and 59 years, Jharkhand is all set to give shots to 37 lakh people falling under this category from Monday. The state health department has identified 241 session sites that will be functional from Monday to cater to the beneficiaries.
As per health department sources, a total of 8.4% or 32 lakh of the total population of Jharkhand is above 60 years and 13.4% or 50 lakh people are between 45 and 59 years. However, only around 10.4% or 5 lakh among this 50 lakh have comorbidities. So the overall population to be inoculated under the second phase of vaccination in the state is 37 lakh.
