The three available COVID-19 vaccines are saving lives.
East Texans have been receiving their COVID-19 vaccinations since they became widely available across the state in late March. Those 16 and older are eligible to receive the vaccine for free at the hub locations throughout East Texas or at a local pharmacy location. Several of the big hub locations are starting to wind down operations as the focus of the deployment of the vaccine shifts to retail and outreach locations within our communities.
Where is the vaccination clinic taking place?
Jarvis Christian College in Tyler will be offering the vaccine for free to its student population, faculty, alumni and to the public at a community wide vaccination event at the school.

Abelardo Daniel Garcia, 30, was taken into police custody.
The U.S. Marshals Service said Garcia was wanted by the Bandera County Sheriff’s Office after he allegedly was involved in a shooting and carjacking that killed two people. Witnesses say they saw Garcia flee the scene in the stolen vehicle.
Authorities said Garcia avoided being caught following a high-speed vehicle chase. The Lone Star Fugitive Task Force was later contacted during the investigation to help locate Garcia.

The Hunt County Sheriff s Office has released a statement, indicating that three people were taken into custody earlier this week in connection with multiple drug and firearms related charges:
On Monday, May 3, 2021, a Search Warrant was served in the 1900 block of Private Road 2534, Quinlan, Texas. This action did result in the recovery of approximately 58 grams of methamphetamine, five firearms, multiple parts to other firearms that have been dismantled, thousands of rounds of ammunition, one stolen firearm suppressor, assorted prescriptions and unknown pills that were illegally possessed. Multiple identification cards, social security cards and other identification documents were recovered for further investigation

At approximately 10:am on Monday, May 3rd, Liberty County Sheriff’s Deputy Luis Jennings responded to a call just south of the City of Liberty on Private Road 1133 regarding an Aerial Drone aircraft found on the ground near the bathroom window of a resident. Upon closer examination of the drone, it appeared the aircraft crash landed near the home due to overextending its flight range or a battery failure of the craft.
The property owner who reported the abandoned drone near his home was concerned the craft may have been used for criminal purposes to spy on surrounding landowners in order to “case” out any valuable vehicles or equipment and/or for the act of theft or burglary. To the homeowner’s knowledge, nobody that lives near him owns or flies such a drone aircraft.
