NEW YORK (WABC) NYC Pride has announced the official theme for 2021 is: The Fight Continues. The Fight Continues reflects the multitude of battles that have been fought both throughout the country and the city.
There are many ongoing fights: the COVID pandemic, police brutality, an alarming murder rate for trans POC, economic hardship, climate disasters, violent efforts to disenfranchise voters, and the rights of the LGBTQIA community being questioned at the level of the Supreme Court.
This year’s rainbow will be a little bit brighter than last year’s. The city’s world-famous LGBTQ celebrations that take place during Pride Month will include some in-person festivities after going all-virtual last year thanks to COVID-19.

Organizers of one of the world’s most famous LGBTQ celebrations have unveiled plans for this year’s festivities.
On Thursday, NYC Pride confirmed that this year’s events will go on, virtually and in person, during LGBTQ Pride month in June.
Now on its 51st year, the colorful festivities that take over the streets, parks and storefronts of New York City have become an annual tradition of celebration of the progress achieved by the community, as well as a regrouping of forces in remembering that the fight for equality is far from over especially for smaller communities within the larger LGBTQ universe.
