PRAIRIE GROVE, Ark. The man accused of shooting Prairie Grove Police Officer has been booked into jail today (May 14) on an attempted capital murder charge today.
Prairie Grove officer Tyler Franks was shot and injured while responding to a domestic disturbance on May 4.
While attempting to make entry into a bedroom, 42-year-old Nickolas Colbert fired three rounds from a shotgun and semi-automatic pistol striking Officer Tyler Franks in the upper portion of both legs.

PRAIRIE GROVE, Ark. (AP) A northwest Arkansas police officer who was shot while responding to a disturbance call last week remains in intensive care but is now awake and communicating with family members, authorities said.
Officer Tyler Franks was shot May 4 while responding to the call in Prairie Grove, about 190 miles (305 kilometers) northwest of Little Rock near the Oklahoma border. The Prairie Grove Police Department said Sunday that Franks was no longer using a ventilator and was continuing to recover from his injuries.
Franks has undergone multiple surgeries since the shooting, the police department said.

PRAIRIE GROVE, Ark. Backing the blue is what Northwest Arkansas is doing in light of the shooting this week that critically injured Prairie Grove Police Officer Tyler Franks.
“We want to pray for his family, we want to pray for him, we want to pray for the Prairie Grove Police Department, we want to pray for the medical staff,” Pastor Terry Simmons said.

Washington Regional released the following statement regarding Officer Franks condition:
Washington Regional has been asked by the family of Officer Tyler Franks to provide a statement about his condition. Officer Franks is in stable condition after having vascular and orthopedic surgery and is currently in our intensive care unit. The family appreciates the overwhelming support from the law enforcement community as well as everyone else who has shown their support. The family also asks that you please keep them, Officer Franks, and the suspect’s family in your thoughts and prayers.
Paramedics took Colbert to the Washington Regional Medical Center where he underwent surgery. He is reported to be in stable condition as well.
