N.B. COVID-19 roundup: 10 new cases, outbreaks in Fredericton linked
New Brunswick has 10 new cases of COVID-19 and Public Health has confirmed a link between the outbreaks in the Fredericton region, Zone 3, the chief medical officer of health announced Thursday.

New Brunswick added 10 new Covid-19 cases on Thursday.
Two cases were discovered in the Moncton, Saint John, and Fredericton health zones, while three cases were found in the Edmundston region, and one was in the Bathurst area.
10 of the cases were contacts of previously-confirmed cases or travel-related.
One case in the Moncton area is under investigation.
14 recoveries were reported since Wednesday, bringing the active case number down to 118, including four people in hospital and two or those patients are in intensive care.
During the province’s COVID-19 briefing Thursday, Dr. Jennifer Russell said 10 cases have now been linked to the recent outbreak at UNB Fredericton’s Magee House.
Two of the cases are in Zone 1 (Moncton region) and involve: An individual in their 30s An individual in their 60s Both of these cases are close contacts of previously reported infections. Four of Wednesday s cases are in Zone 3 (Fredericton region) and involve: An individual in their 20s An individual in their 40s An individual in their 50s An individual in their 60s Two of the cases in Zone 3 are close contacts of previously reported cases, one remains under investigation, while the other is travel related. New Brunswick added eight new cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday.
The Moncton region, Zone 1, has two new cases, both contacts of previously confirmed cases while the Fredericton area, Zone 3, has four new cases with two being contacts of previous cases.
One case is being investigated and the other is travel-related.
Zone 4, the Edmundston region, has two new cases with one case a contact of a previously confirmed case and the other is travel-related.
23 people recovered since Tuesday bringing the number of active cases to 122.
Four patients are in the hospital, two of whom are in the ICU.
Public Health said a small group from Fredericton High School may have been exposed to COVID-19 from a source outside of the school.
