Photo: Royal Navy. THE Forth is set to host elements of a major UK-led multinational exercise next week when Exercise Strike Warrior gets underway. One of the largest military exercises of its kind in Europe, Strike Warrior 21 which incorporates Exercise Joint Warrior 21-1, will run from May 8 to 20 with a few of the participating vessels departing from ports on the East Coast of Scotland. For this exercise, port visits will be kept to a minimum, however vessels are expected to arrive at Rosyth and Leith before joining the exercise. Joint Warrior 21-1 is integrated with Exercise Strike Warrior 21 as part of the final preparations for the first deployment of the UK’s Carrier Strike Group (CSG) next month. HMS Queen Elizabeth, the Royal Navy’s Fleet Flagship sits at the centre of the CSG which will deploy shortly after the completion of Strike Warrior.
Which? recently released a list of nearly 100 seaside town and villages that people voted for as the best in the UK based on the beach, attractions, scenery, value for money, and other factors. Inexcusably, no Ayrshire places featured on the list, with areas in Devon, Cornwall, Dorset, and many more finding a spot. The top place in Scotland went to St Andrews. A fair choice, but there s no reason why our stunning seaside places in Ayrshire shouldn t feature on the list. Here s why we think our Ayrshire seaside town and villages are the best in the world.
