Scott Fairlamb arrest: Stockholm NJ man allegedly threatened Cori Bush

Fairlamb, 43, of Stockholm, was arrested Friday at his home after authorities say four people tipped the FBI to videos from the Capitol, where the former Butler resident allegedly punched an officer s helmet with a bare hand, climbed scaffolding and wielded a baton. Fairlamb s brother, Preston Fairlamb III, is a member of the U.S. Secret Service, according to attorney Harley Breite, who is representing Scott Fairlamb. Preston Fairlamb s LinkedIn page says he has been a resident agent in charge with the Secret Service since 2013 and previously served as presidential protection in Washington, D.C. Preston Fairlamb reportedly once led Michelle Obama s security detail when she was first lady, from 2009 to 2017. In an excerpt from Obama s 2018 memoir Becoming, she mentions him by name, saying, All of us grew close to our agents over time. Preston Fairlamb led my detail then.

Harley Breite told the outlet that his brother didn’t know about his actions at the Capitol.  “My client’s brother has nothing to do with the allegations against my client and was not made aware – nor was aware – that my client may have even traveled to the Capitol.”  Videos taken on the day of the attack and sent to the FBI captured Fairlamb reportedly punching and pushing a police officer outside of a building.  Fairlamb, who owns a gym in New Jersey, joins the more than one hundred people arrested in connection with the Capitol siege so far.  The DOJ and FBI are coordinating efforts to arrest those who breached the federal building in an attempt to overturn the election results.
