LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) A female was hit and killed by a vehicle on Preston Highway on Sunday evening.Â
A spokesperson with the Louisville Metro Police Department said the department s Seventh Division officers and Traffic Unit responded to a report of a pedestrian hit at 7100 Preston Highway, near Oaklawn Drive, around 7:30 p.m.Â
Police believe a female, whose age and name was unknown, was crossing Preston Highway in the middle of the block when she was hit by a vehicle traveling northbound.
She was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police.Â
The investigation into the crash is ongoing. Police say the driver remained at the scene.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) A 22-year-old man was shot and killed Friday morning at the University Park Apartments.Â
Police were called to the apartment building, which is near Preston Highway and Eastern Parkway, just before 2:00 a.m. When officers arrived on scene, they found the man who had been fatally shot.
According to the Jefferson County Coroner s office, Ken Russell, of Lexington, died of a gunshot wound.Â

Hardin Co. man arrested in fatal carjacking of Louisville activist December 17, 2020
A Hardin County man has been arrested on a federal carjacking charge related to the shooting death of an activist in Louisville.
Ashton C. Nally, 20, of Vine Grove, was arrested in Madisonville by the FBI Sunday morning. He was charged with armed robbery of a vehicle. As of Thursday morning, he had not been charged with murder. He is being held in the Oldham County Detention Center.
According to federal authorities, the arrest was executed through a cooperative effort between the FBI, Louisville Metro Police Department Homicide Unit, Madisonville Police Department, and the U.S. Secret Service.
