Bright prospect for boosting Bangladesh-Greece trade, investment ties: President

There is a bright prospect for expansion of bilateral trade and investment between Bangladesh and Greece, President Abdul Hamid said Tuesday.
He said it was important to launch a Greek residential mission in Dhaka to harness this potential, his Press Secretary Joynal Abedin told reporters. The President hoped that the Greek government would soon take positive steps in this regard.
President Hamid welcomed Greece s newly-appointed non-resident Ambassador to Bangladesh Dinoyssios Kyvetos who presented his credentials at Bangabhaban in the afternoon.
The President said the people of Bangladesh are very much interested in learning about the ancient Greek civilisation and the traditions and culture of Greece.

DHAKA, Jan 18, 2021 (BSS) – Leader of the House and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina paid a courtesy call on President M Abdul Hamid at his Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban office here tonight.
During the meeting, the premier apprised the President of different state-level issues, specially government’s steps undertaken to tackle the COVID-19 pandemic and its subsequent affects coincided with the country’s economic condition.
President’s Press Secretary Joynal Abedin told BSS this after the meeting.
The head of the state and the head of the government enquired about their respective health conditions during the meet.

DHAKA, Jan 10, 2021 (BSS) – President M Abdul Hamid today asked Dhaka University authority to prepare a roadmap to overcome the session jam created due to COVID-19 pandemic.
The President came up with the directive when a Dhaka University delegation led by its Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman paid a courtesy call on him at Bangabhaban here this evening, President’s Press Secretary Joynal Abedin told BSS.
Mentioning the significant role of DU in different crucial moments, he said Dhaka University is the birthplace of higher education in Bangladesh and it has a unique role in every democratic movement and struggle of Bangladesh, including Language Movement and War of Liberation.
