ADC suspends chairman for anti-party activities

The African Democratic Congress, ADC, has suspended its chairman in Rivers State, Hon. Sorlebari Sampson, over alleged anti-party activities during the April 17th, Local Government Council elections in the state.
The party also stated that it was considering the option of taking the Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission, RSIEC, and other agencies of government responsible for the conduct of the polls in the state for deceiving and extorting money from unsuspecting candidates
ADC in a communique issued by the State Working Committee of the party in Port Harcourt, yesterday, noted that part of the reason for the suspension was that the chairman adjudged the LG elections as free, fair, and credible when the process was actually questionable.
NDDC: IYC issues FG one-month ultimatum to inaugurate board

The Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) worldwide has issued President Muhammadu Buhari a one-month ultimatum, from April 25, to inaugurate the substantive board of the Niger Delta Development Commission, (NDDC) otherwise the Council will not guarantee the safety of oil operations in the region.
The ultimatum was declared by the President of IYC, Comrade Peter Igbifa, while addressing journalists after an expanded Executive and stakeholders’ congress of the Council at Presidential Hotel, Port Harcourt on Sunday, April 25, 2021.
Said he “Council has resolved that we are giving the Federal Government, the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Muhammadu Buhari, one month ultimatum to close-out on the Board inauguration for the NDDC. We consider NDDC a very critical agency for us in this region. And for this cause we want to make it clear that between now (April 25) and the one month

The Council of Ogbos, in charge of the organisational structures of the Ijaw Youths Council (IYC), Worldwide, has announced the removal of the acting Chairman of the council’s Eastern Zone, James Tobin, following his push for the immediate removal of the Sole Administrator, of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Effiong Akwa.
The Ogbos, known as the Council of Organisational Leaders (COOL), averred that Tobin had no authority to issue statements using IYC since his leadership had been dissolved in a stakeholders’ meeting.
The Leader of COOL, John Amos Benjamin, described the publication that called for the removal of Akwa and Minister, Niger Delta Affairs, Godswill Akpabio, by the alleged Ex-chairman as embarrassing asking members of the public to ignore it.
