Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) slammed the prioritization of the COVID-19 vaccine for members of Congress, saying she wonât get the shot thatâs being made available to lawmakers because it should first go to âpeople who need it most.â
Omar, a first-term lawmaker whose father died from complications of the coronavirus in June, tweeted Sunday that it was âshamefulâ that politicians are in line to receive the vaccine before workers on the front lines of the pandemic âwho are making sacrifices everyday.â
It would makes sense if it was age, but unfortunately itâs of importance and its shameful.

National Security Council Invokes PPD-41
On Tuesday, the National Security Council announced the administration would be invoking Presidential Policy Directive-41, or PPD-41, which “facilitates continuous and comprehensive coordination for whole-of-government efforts to identify, mitigate, remediate and respond to this incident,” according to a statement from NSC spokesperson John Ullyot.
