Development work on Kerawalapitiya Industrial Estate road commences under four lanes

The development work of the Kerawalapitiya Industrial Estate Road, which is also an access road to the Expressway, commenced Dec. 20 under the government’s infrastructure development program to expand investment opportunities and encourage investors. Development of this road was initiated under the patronage of State Minister for Rural Roads and Other Infrastructure Nimal Lansa. The 2.2 km Kerawalapitiya Industrial Estate will be developed in two phases under four lanes. Rs.133 million has been estimated to develop 0.5 km of the first phase. 1.7 km will be developed under the second phase and the estimated cost is Rs. 300 million. Located at the entrance to the Katunayake International Airport and the Expressway to the Port of Colombo, this Industrial Estate Road will be developed as a more attractive area.

Dec 20, Colombo: The development work of the Kerawalapitiya Industrial Estate Road, which is also an access road to the Expressway, commenced today (20) under the Government’s Infrastructure Development Program that aims to expand investment opportunities and encourage investors. Development of this road was initiated under the patronage of State Minister for Rural Roads and Other Infrastructure Nimal Lanza. The 2.2 km Kerawalapitiya Industrial Estate with four lanes will be developed in two phases. An estimated amount of Rs.133 million will be spent to develop 0.5 km of the first phase. The estimated cost for the 1.7 km that will be developed under the second phase is Rs. 300 million.
