The Parliamentary Staff Association of Nigeria has vowed to continue with its ongoing strike until its demands are met and a Memorandum of Understanding signed by all the governors and speakers of the 36 states of the federation.
The union presented five conditions that must be met before it would call off the industrial action which began on March 23.
Legislative activities in state assemblies have been paralysed since the workers downed tools over the failure to grant financial autonomy to state legislature.
The union said this in a position paper addressed to the Minister of Labour and Employment, Dr Chris Ngige, dated April 20, 2021, and titled, ‘Position paper on the full implementation of financial autonomy presented by Parliamentary Staff Association of Nigeria.’
