July 09 2021 Environmental, social and governance (ESG) factors are a set of non-financial performance indicators that assess a company’s risks and relationship to the environment and society. Investors rely on sustainability reporting to assess the materiality of ESG risks to inform their investment decisions. Concurrently, businesses rely on sustainability metrics to identify industry specific ESG risks and the extent of exposure that can have material implications on the company.
