DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH PAWTUCKET – Hasbro Inc. on Tuesday reported a profit of $117.5 million in the first quarter of 2021, or 84 cents per diluted share, a turnaround from a $67.9 million loss one year prior, or 51 cents per diluted share. Company revenue totaled $1.1 billion, a rise of 0.8% year over year: The company’s franchise brands portfolio, including Magic the Gathering, Play-Doh and Nerf, logged revenue of $491.5 million in the quarter, a rise of 24% year over year. The company noted that revenue increased for Wizards of the Coast’s Magic the Gathering and Dungeons and Dragons, including a rise in digital gaming revenue for both properties.

NID to pick new general manager

The Nevada Irrigation District’s Board of Directors is expected to approve a new general manager in a Wednesday meeting, board officials say. Jennifer Hanson, currently city manager for Lincoln, is slated to become the NID board’s next general manager, according to a press release. Earlier this month the agency voted unanimously to select Hanson out of a pool of around 40 applicants, according to board President Chris Bierwagen. The meeting next week will be a formal confirmation of Hanson’s selection, as well as a consideration of an employment agreement with her, he added. In addition to having served as the city manager in Lincoln for over two years, Hanson’s qualifications for the role include having worked as a civil engineer for nine years on storm quality and transportation infrastructure projects, according to an NID press release. Australian Paramedics Association (NSW) Patients waited hours for an ambulance yesterday while managerial staff were pulled from offices to ambulances as South West Sydney hit ‘Status 3’: an emergency designation once reserved for genuine crises. Paramedics state-wide are taking industrial action over ongoing resourcing failures. The Australian Paramedics Association (NSW) reports that patients waited up to 4 hours for an ambulance after calling Triple Zero, and Paramedics spent up to 3 hours per patient in ‘bed block’ (waiting outside a hospital to offload the patient). “By the time we’re at Status 3, NSW Ambulance are pulling every possible staff member from other roles to respond to Triple Zero calls including Educators, Managers and Executive Managers, and Paramedics on day one of the job,” said APA (NSW) President Chris Kastelan.
