Vietnam assumes UNSC Presidency
United Nations, Apr 1 (Prensa Latina) Vietnam assumes Thursday the Presidency of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) in search of unity, consensus and a common voice in dealing with today´s challenges, as stated by Do Hung Viet, head of the International Organization Department of the Vietnamese Foreign Ministry.
As part of April´s working agenda, about 30 UNSC official meetings are expected to be held, putting the accent on protection of essential infrastructure for was-affected people´s lives.
According to Hung Viet, Vietnam s first priority is to strengthen cooperation between the UN and regional organizations in order to promote trust-building and dialogue in conflict prevention and resolution.

The virtual meeting, the first hosted by Johnson as part of the UK s G7 Presidency this year and the first gathering of G7 leaders since April 2020, will bring together the world leaders to discuss how leading democracies can work together to ensure equitable distribution of coronavirus vaccines around the world and prevent future pandemics.

Boris Johnson is set to use the first leaders’ meeting of the G7 to unveil a five-point Covid-19 plan.
The prime minister will host fellow G7 leaders for a virtual meeting to discuss how the world’s leading democracies can work together to ensure equitable distribution of coronavirus vaccines around the world, prevent future pandemics and build back better from coronavirus.
During the meeting on Friday he is due to unveil a five-point plan to address the pandemic issues.
It will include a worldwide network of zoonotic research hubs, the development of a global manufacturing capacity for treatments and vaccines, the design of a global pandemic early-warning system, the agreement of global protocols for a future health emergency and the reduction of trade barriers.
