COVID-19 deaths reach 368 in Rangpur division 123 RANGPUR, May 14, 2021 (BSS) – The coronavirus (COVID-19) related death toll reached 368 in Rangpur division where three more infected patients died in Rangpur and Dinajpur during the last 24 hours ending at 9 am today. “A total of 48 infected patients died from April 10 to May 13, the highest number of deaths in last 34 days, in the division since the outbreak of the pandemic,” said Focal Person of the COVID-19 and Assistant Director (Health) for Rangpur division Dr. ZA Siddiqui. The district-wise break up of the 368 fatalities stands at 86 in Rangpur, 136 in Dinajpur, 38 in Thakurgaon, 35 in Nilphamari, 19 in Kurigram, 20 in Panchagarh, 21 in Gaibandha and 13 in Lalmonirhat districts of the division.

3,22,726 get second dose of COVID-19 vaccine in Rangpur 238 RANGPUR, May 12, 2021 (BSS) – The number of citizens who got the second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine rose to 3,22,726 as 4,559 more people were inoculated with the jab today in Rangpur division. Health officials said the 4,559 citizens, who were inoculated with the second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine today, include 2,734 male and 1,825 female, of all eight districts in the division. “The total of 3,22,726 second dose recipient citizens, including 2,07,889 male and 1,14,837 female, previously got the first dose at least two months ago,” Divisional Director (Health) Dr Md Ahad Ali told BSS. The district-wise break-up of the second dose recipient 3,22,726 citizens stands at 64,246 in Rangpur, 27,586 in Panchagarh, 43,803 in Nilphamari, 24,578 in Lalmonirhat, 27,373 in Kurigram, 34,196 in Thakurgaon, 69,833 in Dinajpur and 31,111 in Gaibandha.

The district-wise break-up of the total fatalities now stands at 85 in Rangpur, 133 in Dinajpur, 38 in Thakurgaon, 35 in Nilphamari, 19 in Kurigram, 20 in Panchagarh, 21 in Gaibandha and 13 in Lalmonirhat districts of the division.

3,18,167 get second dose of COVID-19 vaccine in Rangpur 267 RANGPUR, May 11, 2021 (BSS) – The number of citizens who got the second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine rose to 3,18,167 as 8,863 more people were inoculated with the jab today in Rangpur division. Health officials said the 8,863 citizens, who were inoculated with the second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine today, include 5,398 male and 3,465 female, of all eight districts in the division. “The total of 3,18,167 second dose recipient citizens, including 2,05,155 male and 1,13,012 female, previously got the first dose at least two months ago,” Divisional Director (Health) Dr Md Ahad Ali told BSS. The district-wise break-up of the second dose recipient 3,18,167 citizens stands at 63,027 in Rangpur, 27,269 in Panchagarh, 43,143 in Nilphamari, 24,347 in Lalmonirhat, 26,894 in Kurigram, 33,938 in Thakurgaon, 68,942 in Dinajpur and 30,607 in Gaibandha.

Covid-19 cases cross 18,200 in Rangpur division 195 RANGPUR, May 10, 2021 (BSS) – The coronavirus (COVID-19) cases have crossed 18,200 mark in Rangpur division where the infection rate and casualty rate are continuing to rise again amid a moderately increasing recovery rate in recent days. Health officials said the number of Covid-19 cases rose to 18,215 as 28 more patients were reported after testing 189 samples at the infection rate of 14.84 percent on Sunday in the division. “The daily infection rate crossed the 10 percent mark on March 24 last first time after remaining below the five percent mark for over a month previously,” said Focal Person of COVID-19 and Assistant Director (Health) for Rangpur division Dr. ZA Siddiqui.
