Ancelotti: We should be embarrassed

Ancelotti: We should be embarrassed Lyndon Lloyd Sunday, 16 May, 2021 Carlo Ancelotti says that both he and his players need to take responsibility for what he says was Everton s worst performance yet at home this season. With a place in the Europa League still within their grasp if results elsewhere go their way over the last two or three matches of the season, the Blues knew they had to beat already-relegated Sheffield United this evening but Ancelotti s charges wilted once again in the face of a must-win situation, falling to a horrible 1-0 defeat. Though Allan, Richarlison and Dominic Calvert-Lewin forced good saves from Aaron Ramsdale, in the end all that was needed to overcome an Everton team that was, on paper, practically at full strength was a seventh-minute goal by Daniel Jebbison, a teenager who has spent the season playing in the sixth tier of English football.

Berkeley school district panel discusses history of anti-Asian racism

Berkeley Unified School District, or BUSD, district representatives and district members of the Asian American community met Thursday for a panel on anti-Asian racism centered around its history, panelist experiences and how BUSD can improve moving forward. The discussion was moderated by BUSD board director Ana Vasudeo and was a collaboration between the BUSD School Board, Superintendent’s Office and Office of Civil Rights as well as a new BUSD Asian American and Pacific Islander, or AAPI, group of community members. Panelists included UC Berkeley associate professor of Asian American and Asian diaspora studies Khatharya Um, BUSD parents Julie Kono-Manning and Prashant Jawalikar, BUSD students Abigail Lamoreaux and Jessica Hipona and Berkeley High School student welfare and attendance specialist David Luu.

The Everton Squad, 2021-22

The Everton Squad, 2021-22 A lot of debate is underway on recent ToffeeWeb threads about our squad’s ability, hunger, and that favoured word: ‘deadwood’. We will finish this season where we belong and I am in the Stan Schofield, Thomas Richards school of asking: Why, with what we have at our disposal, were we expecting to reach the moon in one full season with Carlo Ancelotti at the helm? We need to move players on, of that there is no doubt. But, instead of replacing the likes of Sigurdsson, Iwobi and Gomes, could they not become squad players with better quality around them? I feel three quality signings could help us greatly without the need for wholesale squad changes.
