I KNOW time flies, or as we say in Borehamwood tempus fugit but I cannot believe this year marks the 25th anniversary of the saving of Elstree Studios. In 1996 Hertsmere Council stepped in and purchased the remaining 15 acres of the studio for less than £2 million, whereas a few years before Tesco had bought 12 acres of the site for £19 million. The original intent of the owners Brent Walker was to sell the whole studio for retail on the front area and housing on the backlot. I was privileged to chair the eight-year campaign to save Elstree Studios, which was somewhat longer than I imagined when we started. In fact the campaign was in two parts, the first being against the sale by Cannon Films, but it was out of the frying pan into the fire when it ended up with Brent Walker.

DUNWOODY, Ga. â During a specially called meeting April 12, the Dunwoody City Council approved the purchase of two parcels of land on Vermack Road that will be converted into a park.
Meeting prior to its regular session, the council approved the purchase of 9.2 acres at 4809 and 4819 Vermack Road for $5.6 million. The land sits across the street from Vermack Swim and Tennis Club.
âWhen I heard these parcels were available, I saw the opportunity to preserve this greenspace,â Dunwoody Mayor Lynn Deutsch said. âI look forward to working with the community to create something fabulous.â
Costs for the land purchase will be arranged through the Bricks and Mortar Financing Program offered through the Georgia Municipal Association. The program offers long-term financing with low costs. The lease-to-purchase financing structure was the same used five years ago to acquire the building that became City Hall on Ashford Dunwoody Road.
“Really our goal as we went through the year is take the actions to preserve the Chamber and make sure we can remain viable going forward into the unknown.” Measures taken to save funds included temporarily laying off both executive director Brent Fitzpatrick and office manager Kristal Hart in late March. They returned to full-time in mid-May, with both volunteering more than 100 hours to the Chamber while laid off. “The biggest change to highlight is our salaries and wages,” Thomas said. “They were down $20,000 or about 20 per cent due to the decision to have a temporary layoff earlier in the year, and then our executive director went down to a four day week for part of the year.”
What Could Keep Colby Away From Teeter On Yellowstone
What Could Keep Colby Away From Teeter On Yellowstone Paramount Network
On a show full of unorthodox relationships, it s certainly one of the strangest.
For much of
Yellowstone s third season, the flirtation between veteran ranch hand Colby (Denim Richards) and heavily accented newcomer Teeter (Jennifer Landon) is one-sided, with her pursuing him during their time together on the Duttons Yellowstone Ranch through a combination of light teasing and heavy sexual harassment designed to make him uncomfortable in front of the others. Just when it seems like the pair might be getting somewhere after Teeter demands Colby join her for skinny dipping the pair are found and attacked by Dutton family enemy Wade Morrow (Boots Southerland) and his son Clint (Brent Walker), who try to trample them under the hooves of their horses (and maybe even send the pair hurtling through time).
