In today s Baptist Health Practice Notebook, Juho Lammikko is back with the Panthers after spending some time overseas, Anton Stralman is reunited with an old friend on the blue line, and more!
SUNRISE, Fla. - A familiar face made his debut at practice on Friday morning at BB&T Center.
Coming over from Finland, forward Juho Lammikko joined his teammates - some new, some old - on the ice for the first time since signing a one-year, two-way contract with the Panthers back on Nov. 24.
SUNRISE, Fla. - It s been a little bit, hasn t it?
More than 10 months since they last played a regular-season game - and roughly four months since their short stint in the NHL s postseason bubble the Panthers will return to the ice when they kick off their 2020-21 campaign against the Blackhawks at BB&T Center on Sunday night.
Getting in a few extra days of practice after having their initial opener against the Stars pushed back due to COVID-19 reasons, the Panthers believe they re more than prepared to get things going at this point, with both players and coaches itching to get back to doing what they love.

In today s Baptist Health Practice Notebook, the Panthers are gearing up for their long-awaited opening night matchup, Chris Driedger is ready to start in net, and Coach Q is excited for fans.
SUNRISE, Fla. - The Florida Panthers are more than ready for the real thing.
After having their initial season-opening series against the Dallas Stars postponed, the Panthers finally closed the book on their training camp on Saturday at BB&T Center with their final on-ice session before kicking off their 2020-21 campaign against the Chicago Blackhawks on Sunday.
A sign of how unusual things are is that while Dallas captain Jamie Benn was on the ice Tuesday in the last day of training camp, 15 of his Stars teammates weren’t because of a COVID outbreak that cancelled camp for four days. The Stars put a microphone on Peninsula Minor Hockey Association-product Benn earlier in camp and he is heard telling his teammates: “Let’s take care of details, eh. Get it in, get it out.” Sticking to basics is pretty much going to be the story of the early part of the 56-game season as teams go right into it after truncated training camps and no exhibition games.
NOTEBOOK: Vatrano Showing Versatility; Keeper Ready to Work by Jameson Olive / @JamesonCoop / FloridaPanthers.com
In today s Baptist Health Practice Notebook, Frank Vatrano wants to play in all situations, Brady Keeper is earning playing time on the power play, and the Panthers add another defenseman.
SUNRISE, Fla. - Frank Vatrano got in quite the workout this morning.
With the Florida Panthers spending the majority of Monday s practice at BB&T Center working on special teams, the versatile forward was spotted lining up on both on the penalty kill and power play - an important dual role he hopes to continue after carrying a similar workload last season.
