BOSTON A 21-year-old Braintree man pleaded not guilty Wednesday after being charged with a single count of assault and battery with deadly weapon for allegedly throwing a water bottle at Brooklyn Nets’ Kyrie Irving on Sunday following a game at TD Garden.
Cole Buckley, 21, was arraigned in Boston Municipal Court and ordered to stay away from TD Garden. The $500 bail he previously posted remains in place. A pre-trial hearing is set for August.
Suffolk County District Attorney Rachel Rollins said after the arraignment that people don t get to behave like this way.
Buckley is a University of Rhode Island student, according to police reports.
