Two out of three ain’t bad.
With two of their “Big Three” on the court, the Nets opened their era with a win, defeating the Orlando Magic, 122-115, in Brooklyn Saturday night. With the win, the Nets extend their winning streak to a season-best three games improving to 8-6 on the season.
The big story was James Harden, who suited up for the first time as a Net, putting on a clinic and showing he was the same Beard. From the stepback three’s to getting to the line to facilitating, Harden ended his Nets debut with a triple-double (47th of his career) with 32 points, 12 rebounds, and 14 assists in 40 minutes, becoming the seventh player in NBA history to record a triple-double in a team debut and the first to record a 30-point triple-double. In addition, Harden’s 14 assists marked a Nets franchise record for assists in a player s debut.

BROOKLYN, N.Y. (WWNY) - Governor Cuomo is urging New York residents to trust the vaccine and get it as soon as it becomes available to them.
He was in Brooklyn Saturday at a pop-up community vaccination site at a housing development.
He announced that New York is expanding its deployment of community vaccination kits to further strengthen fairness and equity in the vaccine distribution process.
NEW YORK CITY (WABC) Both New York City and New York state have run completely dry of covid vaccines with the next shipment not expected until early next week.
The news comes as more and more hospitals cancel vaccination appointments with no new appointments scheduled through Monday.
15 vaccine centers have also closed.
Gov. Andrew Cuomo is blaming the now-former Trump administration for opening up too many categories of eligibility, without increasing supply. It should have been opened as you had allocation. Anyway, that is not what we did, it s not what they did. And now you have a period of confusion and anxiety because you re trying to hit seven million people at 250,000 a week, Cuomo said.

New York City police officers arrested nine Black Lives Matter protesters in Brooklyn Saturday night. The protesters came to call for the firing of an NYPD officer who pulled a handgun on BLM protesters earlier in the week.
A large group of BLM protesters gathered on Saturday night near the Barclays Center to call for the firing of an officer who drew his service weapon during another protest earlier in the week, the
New York Post reported. The officer reportedly drew his weapon after being confronted by the demonstrators for not wearing a mask during the COVID-19 pandemic.
