The surge of coronavirus cases across Michigan have led to several Secretary of State branches closing due to exposure of the virus.
Secretary of State Press Secretary Aneta Kiersnowski confirmed nine branches closed due to exposure so far this month.
The applicable county health department utilizes contact tracing to directly contact anyone who may have been at risk of exposure, Kiersnowski said.
The affected health departments reached by MLive did not have record of outbreaks at the branches. The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services defines outbreaks as two or more cases with a link by place and time indicating a shared exposure outside of a household.
