A family is heartbroken after a 20-year-old woman was killed and three others were injured after a shooting.
This happened during the Brown Sugar Festival in the Harlem community of Clewiston. Meanwhile, Hendry County deputies are still looking for the person who did this.
Evereonna Sankey’s family wants people in the community to know the beautiful soul that was taken from them due to gun violence. They are also pressing for answers about what happened Saturday night.

A program in Southwest Florida helps high school seniors head into construction jobs instead of college.
“Everybody believes that college is always the way, and there are some programs like this that are awesome that help you,” said Nathaniel Diaz, a senior at Dunbar High School.
Eight Dunbar High School students plan to work after graduation. Thanks to the “Train to Gain” program, they’re getting firsthand experience in trades such as construction, roofing and plumbing.
The students inspected a city-owned house Thursday and picked out everything that needs to be fixed.

A Fort Myers mother is trying to help rebuild trust between the community and the police who serve them.
Shenika James has seen the protests, the posters; knows the names George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Daunte Wright and others killed by police.
She doesn’t want her kids, her 19-year-old son, to be next.
“My son is at the age to drive now and I’ve got a fear for him driving,” she said.
“He’s a good boy but he could easily be profiled, and just seeing that on the news is heartbreaking.”

Lee County says these lights are a part of a bad batch of LED lights distributed nationwide.
“I don’t remember when I noticed it but when I noticed it, I thought it looked really cool,” Mary Macchiaroli said. “I like it.”
“I just thought it was kind of different, and then, the kids that I was taking back and forth were telling me, ‘No, they’re blue. No, they’re purple. No, they’re blue!’” Danielle Bengston said.
