The pandemic could not stop the reunion of a woman and her hero. We told you the story about a woman who was looking for the good Samaritan who saved her life, and it only took a day for us to help her reunite with him.
When Megan Hall collapsed at a Walmart in south Fort Myers a couple weeks ago, she had no idea a stranger would be there to rescue her.
Hall was reunited Wednesday with Eddie Cruz for the first time since her collapse. It wasn’t in person, but it was the first time she was able to see her rescuer’s face and thank him.

Southwest Floridians deal with ups and downs of waiting for second dose callbacks

It’s no secret people are frustrated with the coronavirus vaccine process. In Southwest Florida, more technical difficulties showed up for those continuing in their pursuit to register for the coronavirus vaccine.
In Lee County several couples told us one spouse was told they were not in the system and therefore could not schedule an appointment. Tidal Basin is the company managing vaccine scheduling in Lee County and says it’s working to fix this problem.
A couple we spoke to hopes this issue is fixed quickly, so they can get their second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine together.

Some people receiving the coronavirus vaccine through Lee County were excited Friday to get a call to schedule their appointment to receive a second dose.
We have kept in touch with a couple from the beginning of their journey to get the second dose, from the concern, the waiting and now the joy.
The Goldmans waited all day for one call.
“I answered so many spam calls today,” Steven Goldman said while laughing.
Just after 6 p.m. the call they hoped for arrived a call that signaled a step toward freedom. The Goldmans got their second dose appointments for the same day and time to finish what they started.
