MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - Thereâs a call for the permanent presence of more Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP) troopers in Shelby County from Memphis Mayor Jim Strickland.
There have been 39 interstate shootings in 2021. According to Memphis police, thatâs nearly half the total number of interstate shootings from 2020.

Residents living in the Idlewild 45 apartments said itâs been a cold few days.
âThe heat is completely out, thereâs no hot water and the water pressure is really low so we canât do dishes or take a shower,â Lexi Bean said.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - Shelby County Schools has announced they are delaying reopening school.
On Tuesday SCS superintendent said more could have been done to help the district bring back students.
In a joint meeting Tuesday night between Shelby County Commissioners and the Shelby County School Board, SCS Superintendent Dr. Joris Ray said the district is “very ready” to go back to in-person learning when it is safe.
