India’s drive against COVID-19 gathered momentum on Wednesday with planes carrying vaccines flying into airports across the country from where the precious cargo was dispatched to small cities and towns in readiness for the inoculation exercise beginning January 16.

FOLLOW US ON: Mumbai: The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has lodged a complaint against Bollywood actor Sonu Sood, alleging that he has converted a residential building in Juhu into a hotel without permission, a police official said on Thursday. The K-West ward of the BMC filed the complaint at Juhu Police Station on Monday. Vishwas Mote, assistant municipal commissioner of K- West ward, confirmed that the complaint has been filed against Sood for alleged violation of the provisions of the Maharashtra Regional and Town Planning (MRTP) Act. In the two-page complaint letter, the BMC alleged that the actor did not take any permission from the authorities before carrying out the structural changes in Shakti Sagar, a residential building on Juhu’s AB Nair Road.
Maha govt clears approval for 50% cut on premiums levied on realty sector
Itâs a new year gift for the ailing realty sector. After its decision to continue with the cut in stamp duty till the end of March, the Maharashtra Cabinet on Wednesday cleared a 50 per cent reduction in all premiums levied on ongoing and new construction projects till December 31, 2021. Project developers, who will avail these concessions, will have to pay full stamp duty on behalf of buyers. The realty sector has hailed the decision, saying that the reduced development costs to developers and lower purchase cost to homebuyers could result in increased demand.
