Having received 19 scholarship offers from top universities across the United States and Canada, 17-year-old Victory Yinka-Banjo has a world of opportunities opening up to her, and is carefully considering where she wants to take her academic talents next.

Victory, a Lagos, Nigeria, native and resident, was awarded more than $5 million in scholarship money, according to CNN, for her scholastic accomplishments. The college-bound teen kept busy during her high school years at Princeton College in Surulere, Lagos, which earned her a plethora of academic decorations. The faith-based film I Can Only Imagine hit theaters nationwide Friday and tells the true-story of Bart Millard s life, including his difficult upbringing. In a candid interview, the musician told The Christian Post what his mother, Adele, thought of his honesty.
Nearly eight years ago Millard was approached about making a movie of his story after he shared his testimony during a concert. It s the most random, surreal thing that happened, Millard told The Christian Post of having his life made into a film. We thought they were crazy, but we were like, OK, whatever.
Years ago, I was talking with some folks when I mentioned Moses and the burning bush.
âI think I mowed over my burning bush with the lawnmower,â one man said.
This guy has a crazy sense of humor.
But at the time, I think he was discouraged.
I can only guess why.
Maybe his plans werenât working out.
Or he wasnât sensing the Lordâs direction, something God provided Moses via that bush.
I donât know the story behind the manâs comment, but I know we all face dry seasons in life â those times when seems like weâve been trudging through an endless desert.

Bible teacher Priscilla Shirer has urged believers to join her in prayer after a teenage member Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship, led by her father, Pastor Tony Evans, was fatally shot.
In a tweet that was later shared by Evans, Shirer, head of Going Beyond Ministries, revealed that 17-year-old Tony Evans Jr. who she clarified was not related to her was killed on Sunday.
“Family, would you please pray for the family of @TonyEvansJr1 a talented 17-year-old athlete who was a member of our church. He was killed this past Sunday. He had a promising future at the University of Wyoming this fall. I can only imagine this devastation for his parents. Jesus, mercy,” she wrote.
