SASKATOON A Saskatchewan RCMP officer charged with first-degree murder in the death of a 26-year-old Prince Albert man made his first court appearance on Thursday morning. The brother of the victim said he plans to attend the officer’s court process to find answers about what happened the night Braden Herman died. Bernie Herman, 53, a 32-year member of the RCMP, is charged in connection to Braden s death. Despite having the same last name, Braden’s family says the two were not related.

A woman who allegedly used a stolen SUV to ram a police vehicle before backing up and hitting a second police vehicle, is facing a handful of charges.
Angelique Felix, 19, appeared Monday at Prince Albert Provincial Court. After being read her charges, was remanded to Tuesday morning for a bail hearing.
The incident happened early Friday morning in the 200 block of 15th St. W. The woman, along with a number of other occupants inside the vehicle, were arrested at the scene.
In addition to two charges of assaulting a police officer, Felix has also been with dangerous driving and possession of a stolen vehicle.
SASKATOON A Prince Albert man faces child pornography charges after an investigation by the Saskatchewan Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) Unit. According to police an investigation was triggered on Dec. 29, 2020 after police were made aware of child pornography being shared through a popular social media application, police said. On April 28, members of the ICE Unit executed a search warrant at a residence in Prince Albert where police believed the offences were occurring, according to police. Child pornography was located at the residence and several electronic items were seized for forensic analysis. Ryan Clark-McDonald, 20, of Prince Albert was arrested and charged with possession of child pornography and making child pornography available.

A riot at the Prince Albert Correctional Centre last January resulted in over $500,000 in damages, and will take up to a year to repair, according to evidence heard at Prince Albert Provincial Court.
Kenny Morin, 21, one of five men charged after the incident, received a 45 day sentence after entering a guilty plea to participation in a riot.The incident on Jan. 4, 2021, required the assistance of both the Prince Albert Police Service and the Prince Albert Fire Department.

A man facing charges in connection to a number of violent incidents at Big River First Nation last year, has entered not guilty pleas.
Ryan Lachance, 25, elected to be tried by a judge at Prince Albert Court of Queen’s Bench. A date has not yet been set.
Back in January, a warrant was issued by Saskatchewan RCMP for Lachance’s arrest and he was found in March without incident.

According to court records, Lachance is facing nearly two dozen charges, including break-and-enter, theft, robbery, aggravated assault, and a number of gun related offenses, dating back to the summer of 2020.
