The Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) has identified two positive COVID-19 cases associated with Saskatchewan Rivers Public School Division (SRPSD).
An individual at Ãcole Vickers Public School has tested positive for COVID-19. Since this is the second case in a non-household setting, the SHA is confirming an active outbreak at the school and continues to investigate.
An individual at John Diefenbaker Public School has also tested positive for COVID-19. Communication has been shared with the classrooms/cohorts, the connected staff, as well as with the school communities.
Students are currently on their winter break and will be returning to remote learning on Monday, Jan 4. 2021. SRPSD Superintendent of Schools Tom Michaud said itâs important to maintain open communication with families and the general community.

Director of Education for the Saskatchewan Riverâs Public School Division Robert Bratvold said child care was one of the challenges they discussed with the health authority as an implication of the recommendation to move to remote learning. But the government felt the rate of community transmission warranted the move to Level 4 of the Saskatchewan Safe Schools Plan.
