VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - Virginia Beach Public Works has announced that the starting date on a road improvements project on Princess Anne Road has been changed.
The project s start date was changed from Thursday, May 20, to Tuesday evening, May 18.
City officials say the project will be in both the northbound and southbound lanes of Princess Anne Road from Newtown Road to Kempsville Plaza Shopping Center, and will include milling, paving, and pavement marking improvements.
The work hours will begin at 7 p.m. each evening and end at 5 a.m. The project is expected to produce traffic delays, congestion, and some construction noise.

Yet to be built, itâs an inclusive community thatâs designed for those with intellectual and developmental differences. Their motto is: âWhere exceptional people live exceptional lives.â
It will be constructed just off Princess Anne Road, at the edge of Pungo. The original farmhouse thatâs still on the property will be turned into a restaurant. The development will also include housing, a fitness center, gardens and a variety of entertainment options like an equestrian facility.

Leaders at the Virginia Beach Department of Economic Development have scaled back a planned bioscience project and canceled new building construction in order to speed up the implementation process and because of a lack of local industry.
“The cluster just wasn’t mature enough to support that,” said Virginia Beach Economic Director Taylor Adams.
The city planned to begin construction on the 60,000-square-foot building the first at the long-planned VABeachBio Innovation Park on Princess Anne Road in the late summer or early fall of 2018, according to Virginian-Pilot reporting.
