FIND Cell is a new tool that digitizes cell culture to enable reproducible biomedical science

FIND Cell is a new tool that digitizes cell culture to enable reproducible biomedical science New cloud based software platform reduces research costs and improves speed and reliability News provided by Share this article Share this article NEW YORK, May 19, 2021 /PRNewswire/ Lack of reproducibility is a critical problem in biomedical science, wasting both time and billions of dollars every year. The Correspondence Tracking cell lineages improves research reproducibility , published today in Nature Biotechnology, lays the scientific foundation for a brand-new software platform called FIND Cell; a unique tool that aims to improve reproducibility of cell-based science. FIND Cell (available at https://findgen.bio/) integrates daily cell line tracking with genetic verification. It enables scientists to digitize, organise, verify, and find their cell culture related information – which is critical for biomedical research.

My research focusses on using luminescence dating techniques to answer key questions relating to climate change and archaeology in Africa/Arabia. In particular I have worked to determine the timing and pattern of anatomically modern human (AMH) migration in present-day African and Arabian drylands. My research into North African/Arabian climate change has added to evidence that the Sahara/Arabian deserts have a long history of repeated wetting and drying, with important implications for understanding the climatic controls on future water resources and global biogeochemical cycling. Since 2010 I have focussed on understanding the timing of the evolution of “behavioural modernity” in our species. This became my main research focus in 2017 when, as one of six Principle Investigators, I established the Centre of Excellence in Early Sapiens Behaviour (SapienCE) at the University of Bergen, Norway. The SapienCE centre brings together expertise in palaeoclimatic reconstruction, archaeol

Irrigation Innovation Consortium funds 3 water for food faculty fellow projects

Funded research aims to optimize irrigation technology systems and maximize efficiency -Daugherty Water for Food Global Institute LINCOLN, Neb. The Irrigation Innovation Consortium recently announced funding for seven research projects in 2021, three of which are led by Faculty Fellows of the Daugherty Water for Food Global Institute (DWFI). The IIC is a university and industry collaboration that accelerates the development and adoption of water- and energy-efficient irrigation technology. DWFI and the University of Nebraska–Lincoln jointly are a founding member of the consortium and DWFI Director of Research Christopher Neale serves on its Executive Committee. “The IIC brings together university and industry partners to accelerate the development and adoption of new irrigation technologies,” said Neale. “The IIC is a great partner in helping DWFI achieve its mission of global food security without compromising the use of water to meet other vital needs.”
