Two charged with possession of marijuana

Two men will appear before a Princes Town Magistrate today charged with possession of marijuana for trafficking.
According to police reports, the men were stopped along Samuel Lawrence Street, Grand Chemin, Moruga, during a routine traffic stop in the area. A search was conducted on the vehicle and four kilogrammes of marijuana were discovered in the trunk of the green Toyota Corolla wagon.
New Grant man charged with robbery

Krishna Ramoutar of Hindustan Road, New Grant has been charged with shop breaking and larceny. The 27-year-old labourer is scheduled to appear at the Princes Town Magistrates’ Court today.
According to police reports, the offence allegedly occurred on May 21st. Around 5 pm, a New Grant shop owner locked and secured her roti shop and minimart on Naparima Mayaro Road. When she returned around 4:30 pm the following day, she discovered a window on the eastern side of the shop pried open.

A 26- year- old man, accused of raping an 85-year-old woman has been denied bail.
Denzil De La Rosa, of Marabella, is charged with rape and buggery, burglary and robbery with violence.
He also faces charges of tampering with a motor vehicle.
A police release said he appeared in the Princes Town Magistrates’ Court and was remanded into custody.
The charges stemmed from an incident that allegedly occurred around 3 am last week Saturday.
