Leading Aircraftman Roshan Abeysundara, a promising swimming start from the SLAF set a new world record. Roshan swam from Mannar to Danuskodi, Rameshwaran in India and back, covering a distance of 59.3 Kms.
It took him a record 28 hours, 19 minutes and 58 seconds to swim from Thalaimannar to the coast of Danuskodi, Rameshwaran in India.
He will enter the Guinness World Record Book as he renewed V.S. Kumar Anandan s 50-year-old record which was set in 1971 by swimming the Palk Strait in 51 hours.
The leading Aircraftman has now conquered the seas a domain of the Navy.

The 2021 Ngāi Takoto Ninety Mile Beach Snapper Bonanza got off to a promising start on Tuesday with 320 fish landed in near perfect conditions.
Local anglers bagged most of the prizes on day one with Richard Tepania, of Ahipara, taking out the $2000 prize for heaviest fish of the day.

More than 2000 anglers and supporters filled Waipapakauri Domain on Tuesday evening for the first prizegiving ceremony of the 2021 Ngāi Takoto 90 Mile Beach Snapper Bonanza.
Competition leader at the end of day one was Richard Tepania of Ahipara who took home $2000 for the heaviest fish of the day, weighing in at 6.555kg. He now has a nervous wait to find out if he will win the overall $30,000 prize.
Toys R Us Sold Again To Firm Promising Expansion

Iconic American toy store Toys R Us is changing hands once again, this time going to an investment firm that promises to expand the chain that once dominated the market.
Leading brand acquisition and management company WHP Global announced on Monday it had taken control of the troubled business known for its Geoffrey the Giraffe mascot and backwards R in the name.
The deal comes two years after the retailer along with the Babies R Us toy and clothing store was acquired in a liquidation sale by Tru Kids Inc, which New York-based WHP said it had taken a controling interest in.

Non-alcoholic wines fill a need for the sober and occasionally abstinent, and the new generation of alcohol-free wines is promising. Wine is hard to imagine without the alcohol. It s integral to its texture, flavour, complexity and, of course, the buzz.
Yet interest in alcohol-free wine has grown rapidly over the past couple of years.
According to Nielsen data, retail sales of non-alcoholic wines in the United States shot upward during the year ending February 20, rising 34 per cent over those 52 weeks after staying relatively stable from 2016-19. The rise was even more pronounced, 40 per cent, in the last quarter of that year, which included Dry January, a month of voluntary abstinence stoked by social media.
