Donna Marie s Bridal Shoppe in Utica NY serving brides since 1973

When the doors to Donna Marie s Bridal Shoppe first opened nearly five decades ago, time-honored traditions were woven into almost every aspect of the wedding celebration. Over the years, Donna Marie Magaro-Dye, the store’s owner and namesake, has witnessed a host of radical changes to the event, from the vows to the venues, but her brides-to-be have held onto that resilient thread of tradition when choosing their wedding gowns and the bridal consultant is well-prepared to fulfill their wishes.   I enjoy working with brides and being part of a very important day in their lives, she says, adding, Even though white and ivory-colored gowns are still popular, I find it very rewarding when I can devise creative ways to accommodate different tastes in clothing, customs, wants and needs.  As she observes, It is an honor to be trusted with making sure that the bride s wedding dress is perfect for her, and I don t take that enormous responsibility lightly.

We d like to see the national amount of vaccines to be delivered to the states much, much higher. We need 20 times that to pull off any kind of concerted and and successful vaccination program said John E

Donate blood, get tested for COVID-19 antibodies

We hope those who test positive with the COVID-19 antibodies will return to find out if they are a good candidate to donate convalescent plasma, Paul Freher with Innovative Blood Resources said in an email to the News Tribune. Convalescent plasma is found in people who have had COVID-19 and is used to treat people with the illness. Those who have recovered from COVID-19 can register for a plasma donation at mbc.org/cpdonor. Memorial Blood Centers is also urging anyone eligible to make a blood donation appointment at one of its four centers in the Northland or one of the upcoming blood drives.
