The pub, nestled away in Bottlesford in the heart of the Pewsey Vale, is a firm favourite with a loyal, and thirsty congregation. It never disappoints with an excellent wine list, so much so that many settling in for a good afternoon of food and conversation tend to opt for the magnum sized bottles rather than the bottle sized bottles, clearly to save the waiting staff’s shoe leather.

While northern England has sunshine, parts of the south have woken up to snow. Over the weekend, a light dusting of snow made its way through the county. The flurries, mainly spotted near Pewsey and Marlborough, was a mixture of hail and snow. The snow storm had moved over the Pewsey Vale and caught many a walker by surprise. Pewsey Vale: increase in theft from cars at beauty spots There have been a spate of thefts from cars at Wiltshire beauty spots in the Pewsey Vale. Police want people to be vigilant following having had reports of recent thefts from parked vehicles at Knapp Hill, Martinsell Hill and Pewsey Downs. PC Emily Grigor, from the Devizes Area Community Policing Team, said: “We know that as lockdown eases many people will be venturing out to our countryside and beauty spots to meet with friends or go for walks. Nobody wants their day out ruined by a thief gaining access to their vehicle and stealing valuables.
