Using drones to map field elevation changes

Richard Pickett explains field elevation mapping with drones. Suggested Event Jun 15, 2021 to Jun 17, 2021 Can farmers and consultants use unmanned aerial vehicles or drones to help precision-level their fields more efficiently and economically? The short answer is yes, according to Richard Pickett, owner and chief pilot of P&P Consulting LLC in Jonesboro, Ark. But it comes with some caveats, as Pickett explained during a presentation for this year’s virtual Arkansas Soil and Water Education Conference. One of those has to do with the slow Internet speeds that farmers often encounter when they try to download information. Another is the sheer volume of data that UAVs can generate when they fly across large acreages.

AMD Ryzen 5 5600H Review

The Ryzen 5 5600H is AMD’s new mainstream H-series processor for high performance productivity and gaming laptops. Sounds familiar? Just this week Intel was announcing their new Tiger Lake CPUs aiming at those same markets. Those will become available in the coming weeks and months under the 11th-gen Core denomination. In the meantime, AMD is ready to go with this Zen 3 APU, which is the successor to last year’s sleeper hit in the entry-level gaming laptop market, the Ryzen 5 4600H. The 4600H ended up as one of the most popular options among buyers in the sub-$1000 laptop market. We’ve already talked extensively about Zen 3 processors on both the desktop and most recently laptop APUs. But the basics you need to know are: the Ryzen 5 5600H is a 6 core, 12 thread processor that uses the latest Zen 3 architecture. Compared to last generation parts, Zen 3 brings better IPC, a unified core complex with double the L3 cache, and some mobile specific optimizations for improved better

Tested: Is Ryzen 5000 battery performance really that bad?

Tested: Is Ryzen 5000 battery performance really that bad? Why it takes a hit, and why it may not be a big deal. Is the performance of AMD Ryzen mobile on battery really that bad?  If you’re even asking that question, you’ve no doubt heard Intel’s claims that Ryzen 4000 CPU performance tanked when running on battery. Plugged-in performance was dandy, but in tests of multiple Ryzen 4000U-based laptops, performance dropped huge amounts on battery, depending on the task. While some reviewers checked AC and DC performance and found some nuggets of truth to Intel’s claims, the issue has mostly lain dormant for the last six months. Now that Ryzen 5000 is out, we decided to circle back and see if the claims still held. As you’ll see in our tests, what’s “good” or “bad” depends on whether you care more about performance or battery life.
