Brenda Perks 1950-2021 | News, Sports, Jobs - Tribune Chronicle

WARREN Brenda Perks, 71, passed away Thursday, Feb. 18, 2021, at Continuing Health Care in Niles. She was born Jan. 10, 1950, in Warren, the daughter of the late Walter M. and Dorothy Wenchowski. Brenda was a graduate of Warren G. Harding High School and was employed as an inspector at Packard Electric for 36 years. She attended Grace United Methodist Church. She will be dearly missed by her family. She is survived by her sons, Kevin Perks and Alex Perks, both of Warren; and two grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Michael Wenchowski. Per Brenda’s wishes, no services will be held. Cremation has taken place.

CHAMPION Jacqueline M. Brown, 83, of Champion, passed away peacefully Saturday afternoon, Feb. 20, 2021. She was born May 22, 1937, in Philippi, W.Va., a daughter of the late Frank and Lucille Chapman McBee. Jackie attended high school in Windham. She worked for the former Packard Electric Corp. in Warren for 30 years and for the Ohio Turnpike Commission for 20 years, prior to retiring. She married Delbert L. Brown on May 2, 1960. They shared almost 52 years of marriage and many happy memories together. He preceded her in death on March 7, 2012. Jackie was an avid bowler and was still enjoying it up until her passing. She was also a NASCAR fan and especially loved “The Intimidator,” Dale Earnhardt. She was a former member of the Motor Maids, she traveled extensively with her granddaughter to various ice skating competitions, and she loved country music.

GM names Doneen McDowell new lead labor negotiator

General Motors has named a new UAW labor negotiator as longtime labor boss Scott Sandefur moves to a new role. Doneen McDowell, 50, replaced Sandefur, 58, as vice president of General Motors North America Labor Relations effective Monday. McDowell is currently the executive director for manufacturing SUV and Car Group. Sandefur will take over a new role as vice president of Manufacturing Workforce Strategy until he retires. McDowell is the fourth woman to lead GM labor relations. Diana Tremblay was one of the most notable recent women to do so from 2006 through 2009. She negotiated the historic 2007 contract that created the VEBA, which is a UAW managed hourly retiree health care fund.

JoAnn N Brunstetter 1932-2021 | News, Sports, Jobs

WARREN JoAnn N. Brunstetter, 88, died late Tuesday afternoon, Jan. 12, 2021, at St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital. She was born Nov. 29, 1932, in Johnstown, Pa., a daughter of the late Earl and Margaret Bushka Nicholson. JoAnn was a 1950 graduate of Johnstown High School. After moving to Warren, she was employed as an assembler with the former Packard Electric Corp. for 31 years, prior to retiring. She married Thomas F. Brunstetter on Dec. 22, 1975. They shared 26 years of marriage and many happy memories together. He preceded her in death Jan. 17, 2002. JoAnn enjoyed taking care of her home and spending time with her family. She is survived by two sons, Thomas (Janette) Roach of Warren and Jeffrey (Lynda) Roach of Howland. She also leaves behind six grandchildren, Jessica (Dan) Seikel, Christin Ormsby, Corey Roach, Colin (Allyson) Roach, Sara (Derek) Jeffrey and Emily Roach; and five great-grandchildren.
