SRINAGAR: Security forces have arrested two militant associates in Budgam district of Jammu and Kashmir and seized incriminating material from their possession, police said on Monday.
Sameer Ahmed Ittoo and Ubaid Ameen Mallah, residents of Kulgam district of south Kashmir, were arrested on Sunday, a police spokesperson said.
They are associates of proscribed terror outfits Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) and Tehreek-ul-Mujahideen (TuM), he said.
Incriminating material including flags, banners and letter pads have been recovered from their possession, he said.

Budgam (Jammu and Kashmir) [India], February 14 (ANI): Budgam Police and Rashtriya Rifles of Indian Army arrested two terror associates of banned terror organisations Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and Tehreek-ul-Mujahideen (TuM) and recovered incriminating materials from their possession on Sunday during naka checking. The two accused have been identified as Sameer Ahmed Ittoo and Ubaid Ameen Mallah both residents of district Kulgam. An FIR has been registered under relevant sections of UAPA in Chadoora Police Station.
During the initial investigation, it has been found that these persons are involved in grenade lobbying incidents in Pulwama and Kulgam districts of south Kashmir, read the police statement.

Naveed Mushtaq Shah, an ex-constable of Jammu and Kashmir police, had decamped with arms and ammunition in 2017 when he was posted as a guard at the Food Corporation of India (FCI), Budgam, an official of the premier investigation agency said.
After deserting the force, he joined the outlawed Pakistan-based and Kashmir-focused Hizbul-Mujahideen terror group and became an active terrorist, according to the NIA official.
