EUGENE Boise State athletic director Jeremiah Dickey is flying to Eugene to meet with Oregon defensive coordinator Andy Avalos on Thursday afternoon, a source confirmed to The Oregonian/OregonLive.
Dickey and Boise State’s Bob Carney are on a private plane that left Boise this morning for Bozeman, Montana, where they met with Montana State’s Jeff Choate, according to the Bozeman Daily Chronicle. That plane is next flying to Eugene, and Dickey and Carney will meet with Avalos.
Avalos, a former Boise State defensive coordinator and Broncos linebacker, was immediately linked to the Broncos’ head coaching job after Bryan Harsin left Boise State for Auburn last month.
