THESE pictures from our archive are going to bring the memories flooding back for anyone who was a regular visitor to Bolton Market Hall. There really was something for everyone under the impressive roof of the market hall with individually-numbered stalls often having been in the hands of the same family for generations. Who wasn’t, as a child, taken to the market hall and had to follow mum around as she went from stall to stall. Your school clothes, special gifts and, of course, that night’s tea would all come from under that one roof. The sounds and smells of the market hall have been imprinted into the memory of thousands of Bolton folk over the years.
