A brother and sister were arrested in Taguig early Thursday morning during a drug buy-bust operation by the police.
The Taguig police identified the suspects as Melchor Micaller, 35, construction worker, and his sister Ronalyn Micaller, 36, both residing in Taguig.

The two were caught when the Taguig police’s Station Drug Enforcement Unit conducted a buy-bust operation at 3 a.m. on July 15 along Sampaguita Street in Brgy. Western Bicutan.
According to the report, the police confiscated from the suspects a total of 44 plastic sachets containing suspected shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) weighing about 20 grams and estimated to be worth P136,000.

LAOAG CITY – Another New People’s Army (NPA) rebel surrendered to local authorities on Friday in Barangay Rosario, Cervantes, Ilocos Sur.
Police Brig. Gen. Emmanuel B. Peralta, Regional Director of the Police Region Office 1, said the surrenderer was identified as “Ka Mike/Steward”, 36, of Sitio Cabaroan, Barangay Concepcion, Cervantes, Ilocos Sur.
“Ka Mike” was a former squad leader of Larangang Medina, Platun Uno under the Ilocos-Cordillera Committee (ICRC).
Based on a police report, the surrenderer also yielded to authorities an M16 A1 Cal 5.56 mm rifle with defaced serial number, two short magazines, 17 pieces 5.56 mm ammunition, a rifle grenade, and an MK2 fragmentation hand grenade.

CEBU CITY – Two suspected drug pushers were killed in an alleged shootout with the police on Thursday night at South Road Properties in Barangay Mambaling here.
Kerlou Pojas, 22, a resident of Barangay Pusok, Lapu-Lapu City, and a certain Ryan succumbed to multiple gunshot wounds in the body.
After the shootout, police recovered 4.5 kilos of suspected shabu from the suspects’ vehicle, said Police Col. Regino Maramag, chief of the Police Drug Enforcement Group-Central Visayas.
Aside from packs of suspected shabu which were estimated to cost P30.6 million, a KG9 submachine pistol and a .45 caliber pistol were also recovered from the vehicle.
