Investigation staff deputed in all police stations

Rawalpindi : The Punjab Police has introduced functional specialisation in investigation based in police stations, the sources said.
The City Police Officer (CPO) Rawalpindi, Ehsan Younas, executing the directions of Inspector General of Police Punjab, has appointed investigation staff in all police stations of Rawalpindi.
IGP’s Special Initiative City Police District, functional specialisation has been introduced in Rawalpindi Police to improve service delivery and Investigation standards.
750 officers have been further distributed in different categories at the police station level to cater for 30,000 yearly crimes (of 2020) with approximately 50 cases per investigation officer in one year.

The Inspector General of Police Punjab (IGP) Inam Ghani has issued orders to significantly increase the total number of investigation wing staff members from the current 4,177 to cope with the increasing number of cases.
He also asked for the provision of computers, printers, locators and other resources to the Investigation Wing on a priority basis. He further said the first batch of new vehicles provided by the Punjab government should be handed over to Lahore police as soon as possible after the completion of hood installation while CCPO Lahore, to improve the performance of the Investigation Wing should ensure the provision of the first consignment of vehicles to the Investigation Wing.

Prime Minister Imran Khan on Friday directed the Inspector General Police Punjab to utilise all resources to protect the lives and property of citizens.
Chairing a meeting on reforms and performance of Punjab Police on Friday in Lahore, the Prime Minister stressed the use of modern technology to control crimes. Khan emphasised on resolving the problems of citizens on priority and taking strict action against officials creating hurdles in the way to justice.

LAHORE: Punjab Minister for Law, Parliamentary Affairs and Cooperatives Raja Basharat on Sunday said people should witness sympathy of PDM’s leaders for the nation, who left their poor workers astray on roads and they themselves were taking lavish breakfasts in five star hotels.
In a statement issued here on Sunday, he said the PDM political leadership was enjoying traditional Lahori dishes in the house of Ayaz Sadiq while at the same time their workers were fighting cold and disease at the Greater Iqbal Park.
